PBS and ITV’s “Downton Abbey” is adding another famous face. Matthew Goode will join the upcoming sixth season of the Emmy-winning drama, according to The Daily Mail.
Goode will first appear in the special Christmas episode, which is now filming in England, and will play yet another new suitor vying for the affection of Lady Mary (Dockery), whose love life has been in flux since the death of her husband Matthew (Dan Stevens). In Season 5, she turned down both Lord Gillingham (Tom Cullen) and Charles Blake (Julian Ovenden), but Goode’s character could end up being the one, as he’s set to recur regularly over the course of the show’s sixth season.
Goode is currently a series regular on the newest season of CBS’ “The Good Wife.” On the big screen, Goode was last seen in “Belle” and will soon be seen in “The Imitation Game” opposite Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. He’s also wrapped filming Tarsem Singh’s supernatural thriller “Selfless” opposite Ryan Reynolds.
